Christmas cookies -- 12/17/10

This is my 9th entry in my 5th year of taking part in Holidailies. If you have wandered in from Holidailies, you can scroll down to read a brief introduction.

So... we've only got four weeks left before Christmas...

What? You mean there's only one week left now? How did that happen?

Naturally lots of cookies are needed and Nancy has been busy baking. Some of the cookies she has been baking are shown in the photographs in this entry.

I think most of the Christmas shopping has been accomplished and the items in question are either here or are in transit with a promise that they will be here by Tuesday.

I've given up hope of being able to use that leftover day of unscheduled vacation time. With the vacation time and holiday time I have currently scheduled, I will be working three more days this year. I have a 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. teleconference meeting scheduled each one of those three days (which is why I have a leftover day in the first place -- I had originally scheduled it for next Wednesday and had to unschedule it to accomodate this meeting). That only leaves two hours each of those three mornings -- six hours total -- and I need those hours to do other stuff that I must complete this year.

And now it is five-thirty on Friday and I proclaim it is the weekend. Nancy has a fire started and I dashed out at lunchtime to pick up some salmon to make the pecan crusted salmon like I did a week or so ago. I think it is time for a glass of wine by the fireplace and then cook the salmon. (Hmmm, and maybe a cookie or two after dinner?)

Happy weekend everyone!
