20 questions minus one -- 09/11/11 |
||||
Bev stole these questions from Sunday Stealing who stole them from another source who, in turn, had stolen them from someone else, etc., etc. 1) Who is the last person you high-fived? It was at a wedding reception a week ago yesterday. I high-fived a couple of children of a niece. 2) If you were drafted into a war, would you survive? Well, I'm a bit beyond draft age... however, subtract a theoretical forty or fifty years to bring me back down to the appropriate age range, and statistically I should have a good chance. 3) Do you sleep with the TV on? If you mean have I sometimes dozed off while watching something on television, yes, I have nodded off. However, if you mean deliberately have a television (or a radio) playing when I go to bed. No. Never. I know some people claim to sleep better with a television on, but that absolutely would never work for me. It would keep me awake. 4) Have you ever drunk milk straight out of the carton? No (except from those half-pint individual serving ones). 5) Have you ever won a spelling bee? Nope. Thank goodness for spell check functions. 6) Have you ever been stung by a bee? Yes, just this past Saturday, I was stung on the ring finger on my left hand. It hurt! It felt like an electric shock. On Sunday the tip of my finger was red and swollen. Last night I had difficulty sleeping because my finger hurt. This morning I was exhausted from lack of sleep and my finger was still red and swollen and sore -- so I went to my doctor's office to have it checked out. So now I am taking prednisone and cephalexin. A week ago I was stung on the back of my left hand. It a little sore for a few hours and itched a bit for two or three days, but there had been no swelling or redness or real pain. Other than that, I think it has been a couple of years since I've been stung. 7) How fast can you type? I have never been a rapid-fire typist and I have no idea what my score would be on a typing test. However, I do not do (and never have done) that kind of look at a page and reproduce it word-for-word typing work using a typewriter. (For that matter, it's been many years since I have used an actual typewriter -- probably close to thirty years.) 8) Are you afraid of the dark? No. I greatly prefer sleeping with lights out. 9) Eye color: Brown. 10) Have you ever made out at a drive-in? Yes. (Well, duh, consider my generation -- high school graduating class of 1961!) 11) When was the last time you chose a bath over a shower? I have no idea. Many decades. 12) Do you knock on wood? Once in a while if there happens to be something made of wood close to hand while I am saying "knock on wood" I would probably match action with words. 13) Do you floss daily? Usually. 14) There was no question 14 on Bev's page... nor on Sunday Stealing... nor as far back as I could trace this particular collection of questions. Originally they were listed as 40 questions. Sunday Stealing split them in the middle: half for yesterday and half for next Sunday... except question 14 has been missing all along. 15) Can you hula hoop? I think I could sort of do it but was not very good at it. (In other words: no, not really.) 16) Are you good at keeping secrets? Yes. 17) What do you want for Christmas? I don't really have any specific materialistic gifts in mind. (It's been a long time since I've written a letter to Santa Claus.) Most years when asked, I just draw a blank. I suppose I should make a list during the course of the year... but, to be honest, when something bright & sparkly catches my eye, I either talk myself out of wanting it or I buy it. If I think I need a cordless mouse, I will buy it. Mostly I talk myself out of spending money because with the way the politicians and their lobbyist and fat cat banking buddies (and I mean members of both main 18) Do you know the Muffin Man? Uh, not sure... do you mean the one who lives over in Drury Lane? I did post an entry a few years ago about the difference between "American" muffins and the muffins that might be somewhat based on the kind of baked good referenced in the Muffin Man song (what we over here call "English muffins"). 19) Do you talk in your sleep? I have been told a few times that I have mumbled something but no, not as a general thing. 20) Who wrote the book of love? I wonder wonder who, be-doooo who Who wrote the book of love...
