The Never Ending Meme (part two) -- 01/20/12 |
||||||
I don't know how it got that name -- because part two is the end of it. Well, at least I assume so... 21. Did you go to your high school prom? Yes. We called it the Commencement Dance and it was held during graduation week. 22. Perfect time to wake up? 5:45 am -- Well, that's the time I generally get up on weekday mornings. 23. Perfect time to go to bed? 11:00 pm -- or thereabouts. 10:00 might be better. Time enough to read for a reasonable amount of time and still get enough sleep. 24. Do you use your queen right away in chess? I am not a chess player. 25. Ever been in a car accident? Several times. Never got hurt, not even the time my car was a total loss. 26. Closer to mom or dad…or neither? Both. I suppose when I was a kid, I was closer to my mother, but as an adult I was close with both of them. Mom died in 1989 at age 80. Dad died in 1992 at age 85. 27. What age is this exciting life over for you? I would like to at least get past 100. 28. What decade during the 20th century would you have chosen to be a teenager? I'll stick with the fifties. I was 13 in 1956. 29. Favorite shoes you have EVER owned? Running shoes by Brooks. My first running shoes were Brooks Chariots. There was a period of time when I was wearing Turntecs (Turner had left Brooks to start his own running shoe company) but I found their quality varied too much) and then went back to Brooks. These days all of my "sneakers" are Brooks Beasts. 30. Do you have an article of clothing you have had since you were in high school? No. (I was class of 1961; that would be a pretty old piece of cloth.) 31. Were you in track and field? No. Although I wish I had gone out for either track & field or cross country. I loved to run and I was actually fairly quick back then. It simply never occured to me. (My brother ran cross country. Adam, my eldest, ran track and cross country. Jill ran cross country in junior high and her freshman year of high school, plus indoor track.) 32. Were you ever in a school talent show? Nope. I briefly had a small part in the senior class play. I missed a rehersal because of going to a college interview and the director forgot that she had told me it was okay, so she kicked me out of the cast. 33. Have you ever written in a library book? I have -- perhaps half a dozen times -- penciled in a correction to a particulary egregious spelling or grammar error. 34. Allergic to? Some kinds of pollen. "Hayfever"? Fortunately, what ever plants it is that most affect me, they are not as common in Rhode Island as they were in upstate New York. 35. Favorite fruit? I love fruit. Berries: blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries. And apples: especially Granny Smith and Empire and Macs. And pears. And peaches. And oranges and grapefruit and pineapple. And bananas. Oh, and grapes, especially seedless grapes. Yeah, I have lots and lots of favorite fruits.
