Today is Luther's birthday. He is three years old
 |
Well, we don't know
when his actual birthday is, but when Jill
first saw his picture at animal rescue it
said that he was 2.5 years old, so when
she adopted him she looked at a calendar
and decided that December 10th would be a
good day for his birthday.
We didn't had a big festive celebration
because he has a cold. He has been
sneezing periodically the past day or so.
It's amazing that he sneezes so much
louder than he meows. He is really a very
quiet kitty. (But he's substantial -- 18
pounds 10 ounces.)
Jill just got home from work a little
while ago and is very tired. I'm just
tired on general principles -- was up very
late on Saturday, didn't sleep that well
last night, and tomorrow morning I'm going
to have that bunion repair surgery on my
left foot. Nancy's semester is almost over
and she is studying for her final exam
next week (plus. of course, for the
remaining classes this week).

Luther had fallen
asleep underneath our Christmas tree
earlier in the evening. Nancy came to me,
wanting to borrow my camera, but by the
time I got it for her and she got back to
the living room, he was awake -- but he
maintained the position for a photo-op...
My brother came over for a visit this past
weekend. Saturday night he and I sat
around in the living room with a fire in
the fireplace, just talking... and
talking... and then we thought it must be
getting kind of late, probably getting
near midnight... but it turned out to be
almost 2 o'clock in the morning. (Yeah,
those Lawrence boys, they sure can talk.

So Nancy snapped a picture of us Sunday morning...
|
Yeah, so I missed four Holidailies... and I expect to miss
tomorrow's entry and perhaps the day after as well,
depending on how I feel after the surgery -- and how alert
I feel with the pain killers (or, for that matter, the
pain itself) -- but I will be back here later this week.
