Sunday leads to Monday -- 10/18/04

I read the Sunday Brunch e-mail sometime around midnight Saturday... and then sometime late Sunday morning I actually answered the questions and then saved that file, intending to add to it a bit later on in the afternoon. Then I went for a run and then Nancy and I had a late lunch and then I went grocery shopping and then Jill came over and I fixed dinner and then I was going to get back to writing the rest of the entry and I was so tired I was almost falling asleep at the keyboard... and I wanted to watch that Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars on the SciFi channel (never saw the regular Farscape series but I had read a newspaper article about it the other day)... and I stuggled to keep awake for half an hour or so.. and then went to bed.

It was sort of interesting and fairly well done, but I missed the opening ten minutes or so, which I think meant I missed the space battle that the newspaper article had praised, and not having watched the regular series meant I didn't really know any of the characters in this special two part miniseries... also, except for the morning news, I watch very little television, and most of that is on HBO... and I can't be bothered to structure my life around remembering to turn on the TV at a given hour -- except, of course, for something like The Sopranos or Six Feet Under -- so, even though the SciFi channel does seem to have some interesting programming, I don't think I'm likely to become a regular viewer.)

When I got to bed I read about five pages in a book and fell asleep -- so I was asleep before eleven... and up at five a.m.

So I started my workday at 5:30 and here it is lunchtime... but please don't think I've already worked seven hours before lunch... I've only actually worked for about five of those hours. One of Jill's headlights had gone out so I swapped cars with her yesteday and this morning I took her car in to get headlights replaced (and got an oil change as well)... took it to a repair shop that's not quite a mile and a half away, dropped off the car and walked home, then an hour or so later walked back there to pick it up. Thus, even though I hope to find time for a bike ride later (either on the bike trail or on the exercise bike in the basement), I know that I've at least had some exercise today.

This week's Sunday Brunch is about furniture...

1) What size is your bed?
Regular full-sized (i.e., not king or queen).

2) Do you prefer fabric sofas or leather sofas? What do you have?
Fabric. I don't think leather is that comfortable (why pay extra for something that doesn't feel as good?) We have fabric.

3) What wood stain color is your favorite? (Pine, walnut, cherry, etc.)
Uh, I don't know. Never thought about it. Walnut I guess. Maybe.

4) What piece of furniture is at the top of your wish list right now?
A new dining room table. We really do need a new dining room table. The problem is, we'd really like to have a new dining room to go with it. You see, our dining room is just too small -- I'd like it to be twice as big. We actually have, from time to time, talked about building a new dining room, adding it on to the back of the house. This is not likely to happen.

5) Do you have a piece of furniture in your home that doesn't seem to fit but that you can't bear to part with?
Uh... no. We do have some stuff that will be replaced eventually, but I can't think of anything that meets the description in the question..
