Those of you who have followed JimsJournal will no doubt recall Jim's posting of July 27th with the title An Athletic Weekend. It was his last posting. He described a weekend that he looked forward to for a long time. A weekend that started with Blessing of the Fleet and was to culminate with Crabman Sprint Triathlon.

This weekend will be Another Athletic Weekend. A weekend where his friends and family will gather at the inaugural running of the Ocean Road 10K to benefit the Narragansett Historical Society. This year's run is dedicated to the memory of Jim (my brother) who was not only an avid runner - but also a member of the board of trustees for NHS.

Although I had to give up running a couple of years ago due to back surgery, I am planning on walking the 10K route with my son and my brother's "kidz". This should set a PR for me. My slowest 10K ever. I suspect they will get tired of walking at my speed and will go on without me.

But that's ok. It will give me time to enjoy the ocean breeze and commune in some way with an area that my brother fell in love with. A moment if you will to be with my brother again.

I hope to be able to follow in my brother's footsteps by providing some photos within a few days of the run. Perhaps Gillian enjoying a celebratory brew. Jeremy and Adam and Chad no doubt will do the same. And I'll have a cup of java... and of course a group photo of "the clan".
